about

Arpeggiated twelve-string with a forceful bassline and witty lyrics (or a guide vocal with disparate references that had enough rhetorical force and subtle-adjacent humor that we kept it--take your pick) and catchy hooks galore. This is probably our "poppiest" song thus far--in a pleasing, accessible rather than teeth-grindingly trendy way.

lyrics

Questions are just rhetoric--participation prize
For women whom you still pretend can say things with their eyes
Make another kissing sound; put it up online
Someone has to see it. It has to turn out fine

Someone call an architect about the way the floor
Echoes like the restless feet of some drunk bachelor
The walls are made of sadness, the windows out of hope
The stairs are like a hanging in short supply of rope

All was well for Jezebel. She didn't mind the cranks
Broke and bunioned with their signs--a distant roar of tanks
Breaking though the army group, heading for Berlin
She trusted the defenses wouldn't let them in.
