about

This one, being essentially apocalyptic and a possibly futile tirade against blood-and-soil nationalism, is what one might call a "topical" song. It does cool stuff with harmonics in both guitar and bass and is in 3/4 time and has a pretty nifty crescendo.

lyrics

Narrowed eyes hunting for triple parentheses
Look for a champion, have to make do
With valor-by-proxy, a round-the-clock dispatch
They are the many; we are the few

Always expanding like some dying sun
A brief flash of red that fades out into black
The east end of West; a blood-and-soil harbinger
What must never come back
This is your appetite
Pinging off satellite
This is the way that we all watch the end of the world

How to secure the fate of our children
Only especially if they appear
Like the pale innocents that we imagine
Succumbing to all the dark things that we fear

Always expanding like some dying sun
A brief flash of red that fades out into black
The east end of West; a blood-and-soil harbinger
What must never come back
This is your appetite
Pinging off satellite
This is the way that we all watch the end of the world

And someone's aggrieved
And someone's believed
A photo's transmitted, another ignored
A flag is unfurled and a narrative fitted
Keep up the pressure or risk growing bored

You feel you're complicit for just logging on
You feel like a hero for things that you say
You strike out with what remains of your money
The prices go up; the enemies stay
